Contrasting Keita to Liverpool transfer rumours: Leipzig figures keen to sell or Keita content to stay?

Contrasting reports have emerged on Liverpool's quest to land number one target Naby Keita.

Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol has said that senior figures within Keita's current club Red Bull Leipzig WANT to cash in on the 22 year-old midfielder.

"We are expecting some progress on Naby Keita to Liverpool," Solhekol said on Sky Sports News. "Liverpool flew to Hong Kong yesterday but no let up in their efforts to try and sign Naby Keita.

"We are expecting them to make a second bid for the RB Leipzig midfielder. Keita has told Leipzig he wants to leave, he's told them he wants to move to Liverpool.  A £57million offer has been rejected but senior figures at Leipzig now want to sell Keita.  A Liverpool bid of more than £60million should be on its way this week."

The reports mark a welcome boost to the Anfield club as fans are on tenterhooks with rumours fluctuating either way. Just this morning, Kicker, a reliable source in Germany, reported quotes from RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhüttl, who says Keita is 'comfortable' in pre-season training at his current club.

"You can tell them that they feel very comfortable and look forward to the new season," said Hussenhüttl of Keita and team-mate Emil Forsberg, who is a reported target for AC Milan and has also been linked with Arsenal. Liverpool had a £57 million bid for Keita turned down last week and are reported to be readying a second attempt.

Staying with Liverpool and Southampton defender VIRGIL VAN DIJK is considering handing in a transfer request in an effort to force through a move to Liverpool, according to the Sun. However, the Daily Express claims that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen to sign the Dutchman.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have agreed a £40 million fee for Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic. The Sun report that the Croatian winger will earn £100,000 per week at Old Trafford

The Sun also report that Jose Mourinho wants TONI KROOS as part of any deal that takes DAVID DE GEA to Real Madrid. The Spanish champions have renewed their interest in goalkeeper De Gea recently, and Mourinho has insisted that German midfielder Kroos is included as a makeweight should the transfer go through.

Chelsea are preparing a bid for SERGIO AGUERO - with Pep Guardiola having already sanctioned the Argentine striker's Manchester City exit, claims the Daily Star. Meanwhile LOIC REMY is heading for the Chelsea exit, with Southampton and Everton both keen on the forward, according to Metro.
