Gardner makes North End switch
Preston have signed Bolton left-back Ricardo Gardner on a one-month emergency loan.
The Jamaica captain will remain at Deepdale until Wednesday, April 6 as North End, rock-bottom of the npower Championship, bid to avoid relegation. Gardner, 32, is set to make his debut for Phil Brown's men in Tuesday's home clash with Leeds.
He becomes reunited with the Preston boss after Brown's spell at Bolton as assistant to Sam Allardyce at the Reebok Stadium. Bolton boss Owen Coyle told www.bwfc.co.uk: "Ricardo has worked really hard to recover from his injury and get himself back up to speed and Preston presents an opportunity for him to sharpen up his match fitness."
Gardner has made more than 400 appearances for Bolton since joining the club in the summer of 1998 but his only outing this season came in the Carling Cup win over Southampton in August.
