Ian Holloway is making Blackpool rock: Sam Allardyce

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway's success with the Seasiders deserves to be ranked alongside any of the achievements of Sir Alex Ferguson or Jose Mourinho, according to Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce, who takes his side to face the club he managed in the mid-1990s, believes Holloway's work has not been appreciated as much as it should.

“There are not many managers who have done what he has done and he should be very proud of his successes,” he said.

“But in terms of resources and finance it lies alongside anything Alex Ferguson or Jose Mourinho has done, in reality.”
