Injury fells Cardiff captain Hudson

Mark Hudson will play no further part in Cardiff's survival bid

Cardiff captain Mark Hudson has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

The centre-back, who has only played twice in the Barclays Premier League this term, suffered the injury in the 2-0 defeat at Manchester United at the end of January.

Hudson said on Twitter: "Yes unfortunately I am out for the rest of the season. The hamstring injury at Man U was worse than first thought."

Despite finding first-team chances hard to come by, the 31-year-old has experience which the Bluebirds will miss in their relegation run-in.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are second bottom of the table and host Hull on Saturday.
