Liverpool players head for golf course after West Brom defeat

A group of Liverpool players yesterday attempted to build team spirit in the aftermath of the defeat at home to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing and Luis Enrique all arrived at the Mere Golf and Country Club, near Manchester, with the third-choice goalkeeper, Brad Jones.

The Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish, maintained a positive outlook after the game, which saw Liverpool aim 27 shots on goal, hit the bar and still lose 1-0.

"You can't say it's a bad performance," Dalglish said. "All the players acquitted themselves very well. We were pleased with all of them. You don't create the chances we did or the panic we created in their defence if you're not doing something right."
