Liverpool v Manchester United in numbers
Monday sees the season's first renewal of one of the Premier League's highest-profile fixtures, Liverpool against Manchester United.
Here, Press Association Sport's Tom White takes a look at some of the numbers around the fixture.
2 - Only two players have featured in Premier League fixtures both for United against Liverpool and vice-versa - former England internationals Michael Owen and Paul Ince. Ince scored in the fixture for United in March 1994 and for Liverpool in May 1999.
16 - The number of red cards shown in Premier League games between the sides - to 12 different players. Javier Mascherano collected two for Liverpool and Nemanja Vidic a remarkable four for United, including in three successive meetings from September 2008 to October 2009. One of the dirty dozen, Steven Gerrard, was also dismissed in a 2011 FA Cup meeting.
3 - Three of those players scored and were sent off in the same game - Owen for Liverpool in April 1998 and United's Denis Irwin and Andy Cole in May and September respectively of the following year.
8 - Gerrard is the leading Premier League goalscorer in the fixture with eight for Liverpool, adding another in the 2003 League Cup final for good measure. Four of his eight in the league were penalties, including two in March 2014's 3-0 win.
21 - There has not been a goalless draw in the last 21 league meetings, or 27 in all competitions, since September 2005's stalemate at Anfield.
3 - Three of last season's four meetings featured a goal scored from a penalty. Ander Herrera was on the spot in United's 3-1 league win in September while in March's two-leg Europa League tie, Daniel Sturridge's spot-kick set Liverpool on their way to a 2-0 first-leg win while Anthony Martial was successful for United in the return match.
