Klopp is confident Can will extend his stay at Liverpool
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is optimistic that Emre Can will stay at the club after "good contract talks" were held with the midfielder.
The 23-year-old has one year left on his current deal and has yet to commit his future to the club.
Can has subsequently been linked with a move to Serie A giants Juventus but Klopp is confident that Liverpool will secure a new deal for the German.
"You can imagine we're involved in talks and we all feel good and confident in this moment," he said. "That means they're not the worst talks but until anything is done or signed there's nothing to say.
"Emre is a very important player for us. We don't want to sell or lose players who are in our first line-up or close to it. Emre is certainly one of them. We want to keep him and we're having good talks."
