Sadio Mane's £30million move from Southampton to Liverpool is the fifth between the two clubs in the last three summers.

Here Press Association Sport looks at how the Reds' raids on St Mary's have fared so far at Anfield.

RICKIE LAMBERT (£4million, June 2014)

The big striker was bought as a back-up to provide a plan B but he never suited then manager Brendan Rodgers' system and while his story of returning to a club which released him as a youngster was a heart-warming, one three goals in 36 matches (most as a substitute) underlined the mistake. Sold to West Brom last summer for £3m.

ADAM LALLANA (£25m, July 2014)

The England international's acrimonious departure from Saints did not help his settling-in process and an injury in pre-season delayed his debut and left him playing catch-up. Only under Jurgen Klopp in the second half of last season did he begin to show the sort of form he consistently produced at Southampton.

DEJAN LOVREN (£20m, July 2014)

The centre-back was brought in to provide some much-needed leadership following the retirement of stalwart Jamie Carragher but the Croatia international struggled with the responsibility. His form was inconsistent and contributed to the assumption Liverpool were vulnerable at set-pieces. Improved markedly over the last 12 months and is starting to play a more commanding role.

NATHANIEL CLYNE (£12.5m, July 2015)

Arrived as first-choice right-back and produced consistent, if not spectacular, performances in his maiden season and emerged as a valid contender for the position at international level alongside Tottenham's Kyle Walker. Further development is expected from the 25-year-old.
