Belgium have allowed midfielder Marouane Fellaini to delay linking up with the national squad so that he can complete his move to Manchester United.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford across the summer, with David Moyes making multiple bids for his former player.

With the transfer window deadline looming, it's believed that a deal will be concluded later today, with talks between Everton and United "progressing" according to BBC chief football writer Phil McNulty.

United's pursuit of Fellaini has included joint bids that have included his Everton team-mate Leighton Baines.

The Independent revealed last week that the England left-back is keen on a move to Old Trafford and has asked the Goodison Park hierarchy to try and agree a deal with Manchester United, however, a move this summer is looking increasingly unlikely.
