Marcus Rashford's amazing 2016 continued on Monday as he signed a new long-term contract with Manchester United.

Here, Press Association Sport looks at the 18-year-old striker's remarkable rise.

February 25 - Thrust into the spotlight following Anthony Martial's warm-up injury, scores two goals on United debut in 5-1 Europa League win over FC Midtjylland to see Louis van Gaal's side through a tricky Europa League tie.

February 28 - Scores two goals on Premier League debut as United beat Arsenal 3-2 at Old Trafford.

May 16 - Included in 26-man England squad ahead of Euro 2016, having scored eight goals in 17 games for his club.

May 21 - Plays 72 minutes as United win FA Cup, beating Crystal Palace 2-1 in final after extra time.

May 27 - C ollects man-of-the-match award after netting 138 seconds into his England debut in a 2-1 win over Australia at the Stadium of Light.

May 30 - Signs new contract at Manchester United which will keep him at the club until June 2020, which an option to extend for a further year.
