Leicester have restored their five-point advantage in the title race but the battle for the Barclays Premier League Golden Boot remains firmly in the balance.

Jamie Vardy was unable to add to his tally of 19 goals against Newcastle on Monday night, meaning the Foxes striker stays level with Tottenham predator Harry Kane and one ahead of Everton powerhouse Romelu Lukaku, who has 18.

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, sitting on 16, cannot be ruled out but the Argentinian has ground to make up.

Here, Press Association Sport looks at the division's three sharpest shooters.

JAMIE VARDY: 19

Goals in his last 10 league matches: 4

Matches remaining: 8

Minutes played: 2,809

Minutes per goal scored: 147.8

Total shots: 79

Percentage on target: 57

Vardy's contribution to Leicester's fairy tale season is clear but he has found goals harder to come by in recent weeks. The 29-year-old scored 14 in the Foxes' first 15 games this season but in the second 15 he only has five. He is also goalless in the last four. Leicester's title charge shows no sign of failing but Vardy will have to find his shooting boots to scoop the individual prize.

HARRY KANE: 19

Goals in his last 10 league matches: 8

Matches remaining: 8

Minutes played: 2,789

Minutes per goal scored: 146.8

Total shots: 95

Percentage on target: 62

In contrast to Vardy, Kane endured a slow start to the season, scoring only once in his opening nine games, but the Tottenham striker eventually found his groove and has been a threat ever since. A mask to protect his broken nose may have provided a temporary distraction in recent weeks but three goals in his last two games, including a double at Aston Villa on Sunday, suggests the England forward is ready to finish strong.

ROMELU LUKAKU: 18

Goals in his last 10 league matches: 5

Matches remaining: 10

Minutes played: 2,583

Minutes per goal scored: 143.5

Total shots: 72

Percentage on target: 53

Lukaku has already registered his best tally for a league season in England and form would suggest the Belgian is not done yet. Three goals in his last four and also holding the benefit of two extra games over Vardy and Kane to come, Lukaku looks primed to overtake his rivals. Everton's results, which have been inconsistent, and speculation regarding Lukaku's future, which Roberto Martinez admits is uncertain, could have an effect, but if the 22-year-old can keep focus he is a serious contender.
