Remi Garde to decide on his Aston Villa future in the summer
Aston Villa manager Remi Garde insists he will delay any decision on his future until the end of the season.
The Frenchman has refused to confirm whether he will stay at the club if they are relegated from the Barclays Premier League.
Press Association Sport understands Garde is unhappy after Villa failed to sign any of his targets in the transfer window and would be prepared to reassess his position in the summer.
Villa are bottom and 10 points from safety ahead of the crunch visit of Norwich on Saturday but the former Lyon boss wants to focus on their relegation fight.
"Every manager is in the same situation," said Garde. "I came here for something that is still going on and I am not going to change my mind now.
"Then after that we will start another project and another season and then every manager has to look at whether he fits in to the project that is going on in front of him.
"Nobody can say what is the project for next season.
"We don't even know what league we are going to play in so please don't ask me the question every week because I will give the same answer. It is not the time to do it."
And Garde, without banned five-goal top league scorer Jordan Ayew against the Canaries, wants his players to remain focused and ignore any speculation over his own future.
He said: "When it was the transfer window it was the time to think 'am I OK to stick with this project, with this manager and with this football club or not?'
"There is time for that. There are two windows in the season in the winter and the summer.
"Now we have closed this window and I ask my players only to be focused on what we can do. There will be the time for everybody to see how it's going over the summer."
