Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho will join Real Madrid after both teams announced a deal has been agreed.
The Blues confirmed they have agreed terms for the sale of the Portugal international defender, while Madrid revealed that 32-year-old Carvalho will join on a two-year deal.
Chelsea said: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has agreed terms with Real Madrid for the transfer of Ricardo Carvalho.
“The transfer is subject to a medical and the player agreeing personal terms.”
Carvalho joins up with former boss Jose Mourinho, with whom he worked so successfully at both Porto and Chelsea.
The 32-year-old centre-half heads to Spain — reportedly for a fee of around £6.5 million.
