Richards signs new City deal
Manchester City right-back Micah Richards has signed a new four-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The 23-year-old has been rewarded for a consistent level of performance over the past year under manager Roberto Mancini.
Richards, who helped City end a 35-year trophy drought with FA Cup success last season, has become a regular in Mancini's side and is firmly back in the England frame. The Academy graduate had been in discussions about his future and has now committed to a new long-term deal.
Since coming through City's academy to make his debut in 2005, aged 17, Richards has made almost 200 appearances and established himself in the team despite Mancini's spending spree.
He made his return to Fabio Capello's England squad for the friendly against Holland earlier this month, but was denied the chance to take to the pitch after the riots in London forced the cancellation of the Wembley fixture.
