Roberts signs professional terms

Highly-rated teenager Patrick Roberts has penned his first professional deal with Fulham.

The attacking midfielder, who turned 17 on Wednesday, helped the Whites to the Under-18s league title last season.

The England Under-17s international recently scored a hat-trick in the 3-2 FA Youth Cup victory over Tottenham and has been rewarded with a first professional deal until at least 2016.

"Pat has made excellent progress and we're pleased with the performances he has been showing," academy director Huw Jennings told the club's official website, fulhamfc.com.

"He knows that he has to continue to work hard, but if he shows the same application, desire and determination there's no reason why he can't be very successful."
