Ipswich manager Roy Keane has declared his interest in signing Sol Campbell after the defender quit Notts County — even though he admits it would be “a long shot”.
Campbell cannot sign for another club until the transfer window reopens in January, but Keane suggested he could swoop if a deal could be done to bring the former England international to the Tractor Boys.
“It depends on his contract situation,” said Keane.
“W are interested in players who can strengthen our squad, but it would be a long shot, no doubt.”
