Sadio Mane made his Liverpool debut at Arsenal following his big-money summer move from Southampton.

Here, Press Association Sport studies the forward's performance.

ROLE

Began on the right-hand side of a front three with Roberto Firmino in the centre and Philippe Coutinho on the left. Disciplined enough to hold his position and avoided the temptation to come inside.

GOAL THREAT

Had a volley blocked midway through the first half but offered little threat in front of goal until his big moment arrived. A thrilling run down Arsenal's right was matched by a stunning finish for a wonderful debut goal

WORK RATE

Barely stopped running for the whole match, giving Nacho Monreal a torrid afternoon. Took a boot in the face from Francis Coquelin for his trouble but his energy levels never dropped.

OVERALL

Coutinho will deservedly take the spotlight but what was already a promising debut became a superb one for Mane as he slipped in between Monreal and Calum Chambers before tucking in a memorable goal.
