Slaven Bilic may yet add to his ranks at West Ham ahead of the new Premier League season.

West Ham may have broken their club transfer record earlier this week but manager Slaven Bilic still wants to add one more signing to his squad.

Forward Andre Ayew was brought in from Swansea for a reported £20million to add to a host of new faces already preparing to ply their trade at the London Stadium.

Arthur Masuaku was also signed on a busy Tuesday for the club, with another £6million splashed on the attacking left-back who joined from Olympiacos.

Add to that earlier deals for Havard Nordtveit, Sofiane Feghouli, Gokhan Tore, Ashley Fletcher and the permanent signing of last season's loanee Manuel Lanzini and Bilic has certainly added quality to his ranks.

But, with five games in the opening fortnight of the season as the Hammers look to win their two-legged Europa League play-off against Astra Giurgiu while kicking off their Premier League season at Chelsea ahead of a home game with Bournemouth and a trip to Manchester City, Bilic's resources will be stretched.

And the Croatian admits that could force him back into the transfer market one more time.

"That is basically pretty much it," he said when asked about any new signings.

"Maybe, I spoke to the chairman and Tony Henry that, with or without European but especially if we qualify, we need one more player to have a good balance, good numbers of course. Maybe we are going to try and get one more but I'm happy with the squad now.

"I said after the Domzale game that we were going to add five players to that squad and it was written we were going to make five new signings," he said.

"No, no, we were expecting some to come back and some who were injured, we signed what we have signed and we are happy with that.

"We had it all planned, for example the position of left-back, we wanted to sign even before (Aaron) Cresswell got injured because it was a position where we were lacking so we really wanted to do it."

Bilic revealed a deal is almost in place to sign Deportivo Maldonado striker Jonathan Calleri but ruled out a late move for Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette.

"100 per cent not," he said when asked about signing the Lyon forward.

We need a squad but I'm happy.

"We signed Calleri, unfortunately for him but good for us Argentina were knocked out of the Olympics last night, they didn't pass the group stage so he should be here with us - not today, not tomorrow, but pretty soon, depending on work permit or whatever.

"We did the deal not a long time ago but not yesterday, and he is a top striker as well. You need a squad, of course you need a squad but it is about the balance."
