Francesco Guidolin's future as Swansea manager looks bleak after Liverpool fought back to win 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

Guidolin admitted before the game that his job was in jeopardy if Swansea, winless since the opening day of the season and just above the relegation zone, did not beat a Liverpool side who are now second in the Premier League after a fourth straight victory.

The Italian saw his side produce their best performance of the season, but Leroy Fer's early tap-in was eventually overturned by a Roberto Firmino header and a James Milner six minutes from time.

TWEET OF THE MATCH

"More impressive result than Hull last week that, playing poorly 1 down at ht so a great turnaround & performance 2nd half. #SWALIV" - Jamie Carragher (Carra23)

STAR MAN

Roberto Firmino

The Brazilian, like the rest of his Liverpool colleagues, took his time to get into the game. But Firmino dragged Liverpool back in to the game when he stayed onside to head home his fourth goal of the season. He then won the decisive penalty late on when he was barged over by Angel Rangel.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

Swansea needed to score first to make a game of it and Leroy Fer duly obliged in the seventh minute to get the Liberty Stadium rocking. Liverpool's vulnerability at defending set-pieces was again exposed when Angel Rangel climbed at the far post for Fer to pounce.

VIEW FROM THE BENCH

Francesco Guidolin came in to the game fearing for his job with no league win since the opening day of the season and Swansea just above the relegation zone. The Italian saw a vastly-improved performance, although it might not be enough to keep him in a job. Jurgen Klopp might have been dismayed by his side's mistakes early on, but he would have been delighted by the strength of character which brought a fourth straight league win and moved them up to second in the Premier League table.
