Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers remains hopeful of having Danny Graham available for Saturday's Barclays Premier League trip to Blackburn, but is likely to be without Angel Rangel at Ewood Park.
Striker Graham and full-back Rangel were forced off with ankle injuries during Sunday's 0-0 draw with Aston Villa at the Liberty Stadium, which was overshadowed by the death of Wales manager Gary Speed.
The duo had x-rays on their respective injuries on Monday which confirmed neither player had suffered any bone damage, and the club's medical team will wait for the swelling to go down before being able to make an accurate assessment.
But Rangel's injury is the more serious of the two and he will undergo a further scan in an attempt to determine the full extent of the problem.
Rodgers told the club website: "Danny suffered a soft tissue injury. It is too early to say if he will be available for Blackburn.
"It could be a bit longer for Angel - maybe a couple of weeks. There was no damage on the x-ray but we need to look at his ankle ligament."
