The pressure is on Magath as Fulham lose yet again

By George Robinson

Felix Magath will already be feeling the heat at Fulham after slipping to a second straight Championship defeat when going down 1-0 to Millwall at Craven Cottage. Martyn Woolford's 12th-minute strike proved enough to give the Lions victory in this London derby, with the Cottagers drawing a blank as £11m summer signing Ross McCormack started on the bench.

There was better news for supporters of the other two teams relegated from the Premier League last season, with Cardiff coming out on top at home to Huddersfield and Norwich brushing aside 10-man Watford with a 3-0 win at Carrow Road.

Kenwyne Jones bagged a brace after Peter Whittingham had opened the scoring as the Bluebirds won 3-1 against managerless Huddersfield, who replied through Murray Wallace.

Billy Sharp enjoyed a dream debut for Leeds when scoring the only goal of the game against Middlesbrough at Elland Road, with the striker pouncing on the rebound in the 88th minute.

Birmingham also secured a 1-0 victory against Brighton at St Andrews thanks to a Wes Thomas goal just after half-time, while Bournemouth are surprise early pacesetters after a Junior Stanislas strike proved enough to see off Brentford and give the Cherries six points from two games.

Rudy Gestede bagged a brace for Blackburn in their 2-1 victory at Blackpool, while Britt Assombalonga was another to enjoy a double strike as Nottingham Forest twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at Bolton.

Franck Moussa struck three minutes into stoppage time as Charlton prevailed 2-1 at home to Wigan, while Sheffield Wednesday and Derby drew 0-0 at Hillsborough.

Jake Taylor scored the only goal of the game as Reading edged out Ipswich at the Madejski Stadium and Rotherham also claimed a 1-0 home win when Ryan Hall's 76th-minute effort consigned Wolves to defeat.
