Transfer news and speculation: 26 June

Marseilles have confirmed the signing of France forward Hatem Ben Arfa for €15m (£12m) from Lyons subject to a medical – seemingly paving the way for Samir Nasri's transfer to Arsenal.

The French club have not revealed the length of the 21-year-old's contract nor the transfer fee but his arrival looks likely to mean Nasri will leave the Stade Vélodrome and head for north London.

Reports in France suggest he will join Marseilles on a four-year deal, and he is seen as a replacement for Nasri. Marseilles are understood to have been following Ben Arfa for some time, after the forward admitted to being unsettled at the end of last season due to a lack of first-team football at the Stade Gerland. Part of the France team that won the European Under-17 Championship in 2004, he was left out of Raymond Domenech's squad for Euro 2008.

Magilton keen on Wright move

Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has confirmed he has made an approach to West Ham United for their goalkeeper Richard Wright. Wright made his name with the Suffolk club before earning a £6m move to Arsenal in 2001 but his career has stuttered in recent years and Magilton is keen to resurrect it at Portman Road. "Richard is a very good goalkeeper and I feel he would be at his best playing for Ipswich Town," Magilton said yesterday.

Barrowman to stay in Scotland

Andy Barrowman has agreed a three-year-deal with Inverness Caledonian Thistle after turning down a lucrative move to the Championship. The striker, 23, says he had more lucrative offers on the table from England but felt a move to Caley would be better for his career. He scored 29 goals for Second Division champions Ross County last season.

Yesterday's completed moves:

Iain Hume (Leicester City) to Barnsley; £1.2m

Joel Grant (Aldershot) to Crewe Alexandra; £130,000

Richard Stearman (Leicester City) to Wolves; Undis

Janos Kovacs (Chesterfield) to Lincoln City; Tribunal
