Yaya Toure's agent is no stranger to making claims about Manchester City
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has become embroiled in a war of words with the agent of Yaya Toure following the midfielder's exclusion from the squad.
Here, Press Association Sport takes a look at some of the previous comments from Dimitri Seluk, Toure's long-time representative.
Seluk claimed in 2014 that City's owners showed Toure a lack of respect on his 31st birthday: "None of them shook his hand on his birthday. It's really sick. He got a cake, but when it was Roberto Carlos's birthday, the president of Anzhi gave him a Bugatti (car). I don't expect City to present Yaya with a Bugatti, we only asked that they shook his hand and said 'we congratulate you'. It is the minimum they must do when it is his birthday and the squad is all together. City congratulated him from Twitter, but this is a joke. It is better they don't put anything on Twitter if they are not saying anything to him. The club's owners ate a 100kg cake after winning the Premier League this season (2013/2014), but when they and the players were all together, none of them shook his hand on his birthday. It shows they don't care about him. Of course Yaya is upset about this. If this happened to you.... and nobody shakes your hand, you will say 'bye-bye' and go to work for somebody else. It is normal."
Also in 2014, talks of a new contract led to Seluk telling The Sun that Toure was considering a move: " He's very upset and he started thinking of leaving the club. And he will leave if things carry on like this. It's not a question of money or contract, believe me. He has everything he needs. For Yaya what is the most important thing is human relationships."
Seluk spoke out in April about City's decision to replace Manuel Pellegrini with Guardiola: "Making the announcement about Guardiola destroyed the spirit of the dressing room. It was a catastrophic mistake... I don't think the players have any respect for the way that Guardiola has been appointed when Pellegrini has the job. (Man City director of football) Txiki (Begiristain) has screwed Pellegrini. He has shown him no respect. The players know that there are going to be big changes in the summer and that it doesn't matter how well they do - they will be out."
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WARNING
Seluk was angry about Toure's omission from City's Champions League plans for this season: "They (City) will lose a lot of millions of supporters from Africa because of this decision from Guardiola. Now they will support Manchester United. A lot of people in Africa say they will never see any more matches of City on TV."
ON THE MOVE?
Seluk suggested Toure will be a wanted man in the January 2017 transfer window: "He will have many offers from clubs. China and America of course they want him, but we will have a lot of offers from England and Europe. In January we will see. It is three months to wait - no problem. Yaya is a very professional guy. "
