Arsenal in fight to sign Huntelaar

The race to sign Dutch star Klaas-Jan Huntelaar hotted up last night.

Arsenal are ready to blow their north-London rivals Tottenham out of the water to land the 25-year-old, with Arsene Wenger keen to team him up with compatriot Robin van Persie.

The latest twist in the battle to win the signature of the Real Madrid striker came when AC Milan’s new boss Leonardo spelt out his intention to make a move for the player.

And with money to spend after the £65 million transfer of Kaka to Madrid, the Italians will be hard to compete with if they follow their interest through.

“If we find the chance to buy, Huntelaar is a player we would consider,” said Leonardo.

Last week Huntelaar — who has fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu after the arrivals of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema — turned down a move to German side Stuttgart who’d agreed a fee of £15 million with the Spanish giants, who paid PSV Eindhoven £17 million in January.

Last night striker Samuel Eto’o completed his move from Barcelona to Inter Milan.

As usual, wenger will let us down due to his "last-minute bargains"... Instead of buying the star and he trains in pre-session,wenger is wasting time and thus more clubs are coming in for him..i always wonder whats wrong with this old man of ours! Wenger is getting old and silly i think..He said he will buy a super striker if available,so NOW WHAT excuse is he going to give us this time especially when he cowardices out of the competition!!!!
