Healy dreams of saving Fulham

Friday, May 09, 2008

Northern Ireland hero David Healy last night revealed his dream to keep Fulham in the Premier League.

Last month Fulham looked down and out but after a dramatic upturn in form, the Cottagers know that a win on Sunday at Portsmouth in the final game of the season will complete a remarkable turnaround and ensure the London outfit stays in the top flight.

Should Birmingham and Reading, currently in the bottom three, lose against Blackburn and Derby respectively, Fulham will be safe but they don't want to rely on anyone else.

Healy scored in the first match of the campaign, at Arsenal, and would love to do the same in the last.

"When I go to sleep on Saturday night I will be dreaming about scoring the goal that keeps us in the Premier League," Healy told the Belfast Telegraph. "The match with Portsmouth will effectively make or break our season. If other results go our way we could stay up but we have to focus on our game and go out and win it."

Healy suffered the pain of relegation from the Championship with Leeds United last season and does not want to experience that feeling again.

He said: "I saw at Leeds the impact relegation had. It is a nightmare time for any club. We just have to make sure it doesn't happen to us."
