Back a monkey to invade pitch at Old Trafford at 66/1
Wednesday, 8 February 2012

During a drab 0-0 draw between Liverpool and Tottenham in February, a cat entered the field of play.
Following last night’s pitch invasion at Anfield by a stray cat, Ladbrokes have opened the book on which animal will be next to enter the field of play during a live televised match.
You can back a repeat of last night’s incident at 4/1, while squeaking in as the favourite is a mouse, priced at 2/1.
You won’t get much of a return on those odds, so I’d be tempted to go for one of the outsiders. You can get a monkey at 66/1 and a pig for 100/1.
Elephant’s are priced at 250/1, but personally I can’t see that happening.
The latest odds on the next animal to enter the field of play during a live televised Premier League match:
Mouse 2/1
Cat 4/1
Squirrel 5/1
Hamster 6/1
Dog 7/1
Gerbil 10/1
Domestic bird (Parrot etc) 20/1
Reptile of any kind 33/1
Tiger 50/1
Sheep 66/1
Deer 66/1
Monkey 66/1
Pig 100/1
Giraffe 100/1
Cow 100/1
Horse 100/1 (police horses do not count)
Rhino 150/1
Elephant 250/1
Penguin 500/1
