Tuesday, 30 June 2009
Hibernian manager John Hughes has confirmed Burnley are interested in signing Steven Fletcher.
Reports claim the newly-promoted Barclays Premier League side are set to make a bid for the highly-rated striker which would be worth £3.5million.
Manager Owen Coyle phoned Hughes to inform him of his interest in the player and the Hibs boss will hold talks with club chiefs regarding Fletcher's future today after returning from holiday.
“Owen called to give me the heads up that there's an interest there,” said Hughes.
“He asked me about Fletch,” he said.
“And I told him he can compete, he's good in the air, quick and when he gets the ball on that left foot he always hits the target.
