Fergie prepares to spend £80m gained from Ronaldo sale

Sir Alex Ferguson shows no sign of cooling his verbal spat with Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez
Sir Alex Ferguson will go on a three-pronged attack on the transfer market with his newly-acquired war chest after the sensational £80million transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Madrid.
Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery, Wigan’s Luis Antonio Valencia and Karim Benzema of Lyon head up Sir Alex’s multi-million-pound wish list as the Old Trafford supremo aims to fill the gap left by the Portugal star.
Valencia looks likely to be the first to arrive at the home of the champions with United making an informal approach for the Equadorian just hours after news broke of Ronaldo’s impending switch to La Liga.
The Latics are believed to be holding out for £20million for Valencia while Benzema could cost £5million more with his club admitting last week that they may be forced to sell their prized asset.
Ferguson will face the biggest competition for Ribery with Madrid and Barcelona in the hunt.
