Captain Grant Holt grabbed a second-half double as Norwich came from behind to claim a thrilling 3-2 victory over Swansea at the Liberty Stadium and climb to eighth in the Barclays Premier League table.

Danny Graham coolly slotted the opener from Nathan Dyer's pass in the 23rd minute but Norwich were ahead within six minutes of the restart as Holt's header deflected in off Ashley Williams and Anthony Pilkington's strike ricocheted in off Neil Taylor, with Holt slotting the third from a tight angle just after the hour mark.

Holt blotted his copybook by giving away a late penalty for pulling back Williams, Graham converting, but Norwich survived a series of frantic Swansea attacks to become just the second side, after Manchester United, to beat the Welsh club on their own turf this season.

The Swans took the lead in the 23rd minute when Gylfi Sigurdsson linked well with Dyer and the winger played in Graham to coolly net his 11th goal of the season.

Norwich's best chance of the half fell to Andrew Surman, but the midfielder's diving header was straight at Michel Vorm.

Swansea should have doubled their lead when Scott Sinclair teed Graham up for a tap-in, only for Elliott Ward to brilliantly deny the striker.

Having been unfortunate to trail at the interval, Norwich led within six minutes of the restart.

Holt headed home via a deflection off Williams after Surman did well to keep Russell Martin's skied volley in play and then the excellent Elliott Bennett teed up Pilkington and his shot struck Taylor and deceived Vorm.

Swansea's Steven Caulker struck the post from a Sigurdsson corner in between times and Sinclair headed Dyer's centre over. But when the hosts ceded possession in midfield, Bennett fed Holt to beat Vorm from a tight angle.

Holt needlessly pulled back Williams and Graham netted the penalty, but he skewed a hat-trick chance wide before John Ruddy kept out Caulker's point-blank header.

What an epic battle the Champions League Final turned out to be. A clash between an organisation with a long and distinguished history, respected by friend and foe alike up against a relative newcomer, the plaything of a foreign oligarch, who is universally viewed with raised eyebrows.
