Hughes refuses to brood on the past

Mark Hughes will not let QPR "cry over spilt milk" as he is only interested in winning their upcoming games.

The west Londoners are in the midst of an important run of Barclays Premier League fixtures, with Hughes taking his side to former club Blackburn this weekend off the back of a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Wolves.

The Hoops were in the lead and dominating until Djibril Cisse's sending off turned the match in an eerily-similar fashion to last month's match with Norwich, and Hughes said: "There have been mitigating circumstances [in throwing away leads."

He added: "There have been two games where we have been in control and unfortunately a guy has been sent off and that has affected the outcome.

"Obviously Joey got sent off against Norwich and Djibril last week so in both of those situations we were comfortable and lost six points.

"We could have been sat here and been a lot better off. We can look back on it and [cry over] spilt milk somewhat, but you can't do anything about it.

"You have to get on with games you have got ahead of you and that's what we are focusing on.

"It is important we are really positive about every game we have from now until the end of the year.

"There is an understanding with the guys that if we lose players to indiscipline it is going to hurt us all.

"We have got to keep every player on the pitch if we can, that goes without saying. We are a good side and create things if we have got everybody on the pitch."

Billy on the Box: DD’s big pair puts on blue show in Bavaria

What an epic battle the Champions League Final turned out to be. A clash between an organisation with a long and distinguished history, respected by friend and foe alike up against a relative newcomer, the plaything of a foreign oligarch, who is universally viewed with raised eyebrows.
