In Pictures: When footballers' Christmas parties go wrong
Saturday, 19 December 2009
Liverpool (1998)
These days, Jamie Carragher is virtually the conscience of the club, but in 1998 he was otherwise occupied (and his actions led to a ban on club Christmas parties).
Dressed as the Hunchback of Notre Dame, he reached for the whipped cream when the stripper arrived. As Carragher 'cavorted' with her (according to reports in the News of the World), Michael Owen went to stand in the corner while an aghast Paul Ince (then team captain) was said to have seized the microphone and ordered Carragher to "put her down"
While the Christmas party season can get pretty wild, nothing compares to the antics of certain Premier League footballers on a festive night out.
