Johnson may join Healy at Fulham

Northern Ireland star David Healy is set for a major fight for his first team place at Fulham with Everton striker Andy Johnson closing in on a deal to move to Craven Cottage.

Wigan are also keen on Johnson, but with the Toffees ready to accept a bid of around £10.7 million from Roy Hodgson, the most likely destination for AJ is London.

That’s where he played his best football, when he was managed by former Northern Ireland striker Iain Dowie at Crystal Palace.

While Johnson is in England, Fulham are on tour in South Korea.

Healy (pictured left) started alongside new signing Bobby Zamora in attack in last night’s 1-0 defeat to Busan l’Park.

The man from Killyleagh linked up well with Zamora on occasions but couldn’t find a way past the home defence.

Northern Ireland’s record goalscorer was relieved to be back in action after an eventful few days.

Last Saturday when he was warming up, he pretended to play the flute in front of Celtic fans in a light hearted gesture following some banter from the Bhoys.

He apologised adding that he did not mean to cause any offence.

Now he is aiming to impress enough in the remainder of the pre-season programme in order to be included in Fulham’s first Premier League match, away to newly promoted Hull City on August 16.

Before then Fulham complete their South Korean tour on Saturday against Uisan Hyundai before travelling to Birmingham on August 2 and hosting Torino a week later.

YES! C'MON WOY...GET US SOME AJ!
