Turner focused on Hull despite Spurs and Liverpool rumours
Friday, 31 July 2009
Hull defender Michael Turner insists he is focused only on getting fit for the new season despite reports linking him with a move to either Tottenham or Liverpool.
The 25-year-old was one of the Tigers' more consistent performers last term as they narrowly staved off relegation and was named the club's player of the year for the second successive season.
“I am just concentrating on my training at the moment as I want to get fit for the first game of the season,” Turner said.
“I have heard about one or two things that have been in the paper but I am not really thinking about it to be honest. I am just concentrating on getting fit.”
Hull secured their place in today’s final of the Barclays Asia Trophy — against Spurs — with victory over Beijing Guoan, winning on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
