Robbie Keane's wife gives birth to second son

Republic of Ireland skipper Robbie Keane was on his way to Dublin on Tuesday following the birth of his second son.

The 35-year-old striker and his wife Claudine, who have six-year-old son Robert Jr, announced the news in a statement on his Facebook page.

It said: "Robbie and Claudine Keane are delighted to announce the birth of their gorgeous baby boy, who was born at 7pm on the 5th of October weighing 8lbs at the Cedars-Sinai hospital LA. Mum and baby are doing great. Robert is already enjoying his new role as big brother."

Keane, who scored for his club the Los Angeles Galaxy in Sunday's 1-1 draw in Seattle, was expected to arrive on Tuesday evening to join up with his international team-mates ahead of Thursday night's Euro 2016 qualifier against Germany and the trip to Poland which follows it.

Full-back Cyrus Christie, who missed training on Monday because of a slight groin problem, returned to action in the morning session but Everton counterpart Seamus Coleman once again trained with the medical staff as he works his way back from a hamstring injury.
