Rogan: Celtic clash one of greatest ever for Belfast
Former Celtic hero Anton Rogan believes a potential Champions League match between his old club and Linfield at Windsor Park could be one of the greatest sporting events ever staged in Belfast as long as everyone behaves themselves.
Rogan, who started his career at Distillery and recalls playing the Blues in his Irish League days, has revealed he is hoping Linfield overcome San Marino opponents La Fiorita in the first qualifying round to set up a blockbuster clash with Brendan Rodgers' Invincibles.
The ex-Northern Ireland defender says such a tie 'would be great for Belfast and Glasgow', adding that it would be fantastic to see Linfield boss David Healy and Rodgers side by side in the respective dug-outs.
There have been security concerns expressed about the match due to be held at Windsor Park, which could possibly take place on July 11.
Linfield are scheduled to meet with PSNI officials tomorrow about the date and time of the game at the south Belfast venue with Celtic and UEFA keeping abreast of developments.
