Celtic manager Ronny Deila claims they have a "fantastic atmosphere" on the training ground despite revealing full-back Emilio Izaguirre needed stitches after being on the receiving end of Nadir Ciftci's temper.

Izaguirre suffered an ear injury after Ciftci lashed out following a challenge from the left-back. It is believed he kicked out at the Honduran on the ground.

Despite not being present, Deila was open about the incident, which happened ahead of Celtic's League Cup quarter-final against Hearts tonight.

Deila claimed that training ground passion is necessary.

"It happens all the time," he said. "We want intensity. It was a tackle and a reaction and he (Izaguirre) got hit in his ear. He had to get it stitched. He's fine for tomorrow.

"It was a reaction from another player to a tackle. I always say I want 100 per cent.

"We have a fantastic atmosphere on the training pitch. It's been very good. Sometimes it gets too hot and there was an incident but I have talked with both players and everybody is ready for Hearts."
