Celtic in fine fettle for Rangers clash
Celtic are in good shape for the big New Year's Eve clash with Rangers at Ibrox after a 3-0 win on Hamilton's plastic pitch - but Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers was an angry man.
Celtic host Ross County on Wednesday night and won on Saturday with goals from Leigh Griffiths, a Stuart Armstrong stunner and Moussa Dembele as they remained unbeaten domestically.
But Ulsterman Rodgers was annoyed at the dismissal of Callum McGregor just after half-time for two yellow cards with the Hoops 1-0 up at the time.
"We were presented with a challenge going down to 10 men for the first time this season, which I thought was an awful decision by the referee (Willie Collum)," he said.
"Know your player, for one, and then he needs a bit of help from his linesman.
"Callum McGregor just jumps forward, his momentum takes him forward, he doesn't have his foot up, and of course the player goes over.
"So to give him a second booking for that was a really, really bad decision.
"The kid is hugely disappointed, but there's no fault of his on that one.
"The players deserve credit, we got a third goal and maybe could've had more."
