Davis is on verge of Rangers deal

Rangers are still hopeful of confirming Northern Ireland star Steven Davis as their player by the end of the week, despite a snag hitting his move from Fulham.

The deal was thought to have been close enough for the ex-Aston Villa man to sign on the dotted line at Ibrox before he plays for Northern Ireland against Scotland in tonight's international friendly at Hampden Park.

But despite a fee being agreed between the clubs and Davis keen to sign for the Light Blues, there is believed to be an issue between the 23-year old midfielder and Fulham.

All parties are working around the clock to ensure the snag does not become a major issue and the Belfast Telegraph has learnt the deal is "edging closer" and is still likely to go through, if not by the end of the week, then by the start of next week.
