Holloway’s in the hunt for Celtic star McCourt

Paddy McCourt

Premier League-bound Blackpool are to use their newly acquired wealth to try and prise Paddy McCourt away from Celtic.

The Tangarines boss Ian Holloway tried to buy the Northern Ireland winger in January but his move was thwarted by then boss Tony Mowbray.

However, Holloway, who has stated that he will continue to be stringent in the transfer market, is expected to make another move for McCourt, in the hope that the ex-Derry City man can have the same impact in going to Bloomfield Road from the the SPL as star man Charlie Adam.

Meanwhile, Scott Brown says Sol Campbell is just the type of player that Celtic should be targeting.

The Arsenal defender has had talks with caretaker boss Neil Lennon and Brown said: “Yes, his experience would really help.

“He has played in the Champions League final and won Premier Leagues with Arsenal so it would help us at the back. We can attract big people, we are a big club, so the bigger the better for us.”
