Kids auger well for the future

Published 18/04/2013

Having watched both the FA Cup fixtures and Scottish Cup fixtures over the weekend there's no doubt which games brought the most excitement and drama to our screens.

A total of 14 goals in two semi-finals over Saturday and Sunday between Hibs and Falkirk and Celtic and Dundee United must have been enthralling viewing for those lucky enough to have watched the Scottish instalment. The quality of all-round play was fantastic, the tempo of the games was brilliant. Most importantly the young talent on show belittled the theory that Scottish football is on the decline.

Hibs' Alex Harris is a bright prospect and for Dundee United to play 16-year-old John Soutar and 17-year-old Ryan Gauld (pictured) against Celtic showed great bravery from boss Jackie McNamara. The kids didn't let him down. Roll on the Scottish Cup Final I say!
