Steve Lomas backed the decision to postpone last night’s Scottish Premier League clash between St Johnstone and Aberdeen.
The former Northern Ireland captain was due to lead the Saints for the first time after being installed as manager last week.
And while there was obvious disappointment for Lomas, he was honest enough to admit that the right call was made.
“With it being my first game and live on Sky everyone was looking forward to it so it is disappointing, but safety is paramount for players and fans,” said Lomas.
“You only have to look at the terrible accident in England on Friday — fans shouldn’t be travelling in that.
“Even if they had got here they wouldn’t have been able to see a lot so it’s absolutely the right decision.”
