Stephen Craigan: Ivan’s Highland fling can prove a hit

Published 24/01/2013

As debuts go Ivan Sproule will be delighted with his on Saturday for Ross County as his two goals helped earn them a 4-1 win at St Mirren.

Ivan has been a bit of a forgotten man due to his lack of first team football at Hibernian this season but he certainly hit the headlines with his goalscoring exploits. Ivan has only ever wanted to play football and on Saturday he looked as fresh and fast as ever.

Maybe if he keeps up that kind of form Michael O'Neill will cast an eye his way for a possible international recall.

His pace was a constant threat against St Mirren and he looks like a really shrewd signing by Ross County manager Derek Adams in their fight for SPL survival.

Ivan looked like a player desperate to make up for lost time on his debut and credit must go to him for making the move to the Highlands. It's paying off already.
