There has to be a Plan B for clubs

Monday was billed as D-day for change within Scottish football as SPL clubs voted to reconstruct the leagues, but all didn't go to plan and the game is now in limbo.

St Mirren and Ross County vetoed the opportunity to play their part in major changes to Scottish football as a whole and a lot of anger and frustration is boiling among rival clubs.

As well as disharmony, uncertainty is rife among clubs, especially in the SPL and First Division.

I get the feeling, however, the working groups will have explored a Plan B even though SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster (pictured) stated previously this was it or it was status quo for the foreseeable future.

Our game has been through the mire over the past 12-18 months with financial issues gripping clubs continually and the reconstruction was seen by many of them as their lifeline.

A few are teetering on the brink, you just hope they can survive before the next plan is put in place.
