San Marino scored their first away goal since 2001, but they still went down to a heavy defeat, 4-1 in Norway. Striker Mattia Stefanelli was quickest to latch onto a rebound in the box and lashed home in the 54th minute for the minnows, the first time they had scored an away goal in 15 years.

Davide Simoncini's own goal after a quarter of an hour had opened the scoring for Norway, but the equaliser prompted mass celebrations from both the San Marino players on the pitch and the bench.

However the visitors couldn't hold on for the unlikeliest of draws as Adama Diomandé, Martin Samuelsen and Bournemouth's Joshua King all found the net to seal Norway's victory.

In the other Group C match, Azerbaijan's incredible start to their campaign continued as they held the Czech Republic to a 0-0 draw in Prague.

The result means Azerbaijan go second in the group on seven points, three ahead of Northern Ireland, however they have yet to play Germany.
