US show 60 Minutes Sports aired a segment on hurling on Tuesday night and got a great reaction from viewers.

The show told the the story of the 'most exciting game you've probably never heard of' and the feature was a hit among viewers of the broadcast on Showtime.

President Michael D Higgins will discuss the origins of the fastest field game on the planet while Donal Óg Cusack explains the local nature of the sport.

'You play where you are born," was the Corkman's message and the voluntary nature of the sport impressed many on the other side of the Atlantic.
