Carvill leads storming finish for spirited Armagh

An explosive finishing burst that was highlighted by a stunning three-point blitz from substitute Paul Carvill took Armagh to victory at the Morgan Athletic Grounds last night.

Carvill's winning score, a 50-metre free, not only edged his side to victory but negated Paul Finlay's gigantic eight-point input for the visitors.

A proliferation of errors tarnished Armagh's first-half efforts and, with Finlay in fine form, the sides were level at 0-6 each at half-time.

The dismissal of midfielder James Lavery in the 52nd minute failed to disrupt Armagh's momentum as they produced a strong finish, led by the predatory Carvill.
