Cork down battling Galway

Galway suffered their first defeat of the NHL Division One campaign, but they went down fighting in a compelling encounter against Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Pat Horgan netted a penalty as the Rebels moved six points clear, but Aonghus Callanan pulled back a Galway goal.

Cork led by 1-10 to 1-4 at half-time, but Galway levelled through Ger Farragher midway through the second half.

The Rebels pulled clear with scores from Horgan, Cathal Naughton and Pa Cronin to win by 1-20 to 1-17.
