Counihan hopeful of Canty recovery

Cork boss Conor Counihan is refusing to rule out the possibility of Graham Canty being fit for the All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Dublin on August 22.

Canty suffered a Grade 2 hamstring tear in the All-Ireland quarter-final victory over Roscommon, and is a serious doubt for the clash with the Dubs.

"He's progressing but the reality is we won't know until next week," said Counihan.

"Fifty-fifty is as much as he is at this point. It'll be touch and go. We won't know until very late. Those sort of injuries are messy enough and we just won't know.

"He has had that previously alright so we'll keep the fingers crossed. He's doing a bit of light jogging, say maybe 20 or 30 percent. Look, there's still eight or nine days to go so we'll keep the hopes up."
