Cross and Passion miss out in hurling final

Cross and Passion, Ballycastle, fell short in their bid to land the All-Ireland senior B hurling title on Saturday when they were comprehensively beaten 2-16 to 0-10 by Coláiste Phobal Roscrea in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny.

The Antrim boys actually put themselves in a good position early on in the contest when points from Cormac McClafferty, John McErlean and Diarmuid McShane put them 0-4 to 0-1 ahead after five minutes.

Jordan Fogarty was in serious free-taking form for the Tipperary school and Fogarty was on hand to claim the first goal when the umpires had adjudged his shot to cross the line. It This was a blow Cross and Passion never seemed to recover from.

With the Premier county boys 1-7 to 0-6 up at half-time, they built on that confidence to stretch their lead over the second half. David Murray added a second goal to Fogarty's accuracy from the dead ball to make it comfortable in the end.
