Doyle downs hat-trick in Carlow success

Substitute Craig Doyle came off the bench to fire in a spectacular hat-trick as Carlow powered to a 4-17 to 2-13 victory over London in the Leinster SHC at Dr Cullen Park.

Sean Murphy grabbed a 31st-minute goal and added two points as the home side eased clear.

Three Gerard Hennelly scores kept London in touch, but they trailed by 1-7 to 0-5 at half-time.

After Doyle struck for his side's second goal, Carlow looked capable of running away with it, but plucky London came roaring back to grab goals through Martin Duggan and substitute Luke Hands.

However, the Barrowsiders had more in reserve and made sure of victory when Doyle skipped past two markers and the goalkeeper to plant the ball in an empty net for his hat-trick.
